1993–The Relocation

Wha-la….an Automotive Paint Store…a stand alone solid brick building with good parking and visibility, good interior space and within close proximity to the Foundry so that we would be easily found by current customers.

The new space was a huge undertaking. Walls coming down and walls being built. All work needing to be completed in a matter of weeks.

The main showroom had to be configured around a staggered level interior space that included a ramp that led into back warehouse area. Brick needed to be covered from the walls to prevent damage to dresses. A paint mixing room became dressing rooms. An amazing transformation.

After many weeks of preparation, the work was completed and A L’Amour moved late Saturday and Sunday, and re-opened for business without skipping a beat.

It has been 18 years since the move and even today we are asked if we are in the Foundry Shopping Center when called for directions. In fact just this past Thursday afternoon a customer from our previous life came in after first going to our old location in the Foundry. Customers follow over a lifetime.

The decision to move A L’Amour was not a difficult one, but where to move was another story. Another shopping center location was distasteful. A location that offered adequate customer parking, visibility, options of hours and space was imperative.
